Alarm Monitoring for Commercial and Industrial Firms

Alarm Monitoring for Commercial and Industrial Firms
Alarm system monitoring reports a security or fire alarm to a remotely located listed central station.
In most buildings the greatest risk of loss occurs when the facility is unoccupied.  If there is a fire alarm, or a security alarm, and there is nobody on scene to respond to the problem, big problems can result.  The fire spreads and does irretrievable damage; intruders steal thousands of dollars worth of property, or commit vandalism in the process.  This is where alarm monitoring provides the extra measure …

False Fire Alarms

Fire Alarm

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Fire Departments in the United States reported 896,500 false fire alarms in 1980.  Since then this number has grown by more than 230%, to an astonishing amount of just over 2,000,000.  False fire alarms tie up critical Fire Department resources, lead to down-time for businesses and are the cause of the infamous “Crying Wolf” syndrome, where occupants become so used to hearing the fire alarm that they begin to ignore them, without knowing if they are real or not.  This very …
