We have an established and growing fire suppression/protection company in Grand Junction with an opening for a full-time in-house Fire Sprinkler Service Technician. Commercial/Residential construction in Western Colorado is expanding and we need your help.

Job Description

Annual/Semi-Annual/Quarterly Inspections of commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems including: wet systems, dry systems, fire pumps and backflow devices (must have Colorado ASSE or ABPA backflow certification).

Complete Service Skill Set for repair/replacement of fire sprinkler systems including: wet systems, dry systems, fire pumps and backflow devices.

Must have good communication skills for up-selling customers (new and existing) on additional services/repairs needed. Must be able to quote tenant improvement repair work and other service/inspection work. Must be prepared to learn our company pricing on service/repair as well as pricing on additional services we offer (repair and service on extinguishers, hood inspections, hood cleanings, fire alarm and e-light services.

Prime candidate will also have a working knowledge of pipe-fitting (including soldering of copper, and protocols for installing CPVC) and be willing to help in this area as needed. A Colorado Fire Sprinkler Fitters License is a huge plus.

Job Requirements: Education, training, experience:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum 5 years experience as a fire sprinkler service technician, with an additional 10 years experience in the fire suppression industry.

  • A willingness to work hard at unpredictable hours.

  • All required state licenses - a minimum of a Colorado State Backflow Certification through ASSE or ABPA.

  • A valid Driver's License and clean driving record.

  • A Working knowledge of Fire, Life Safety and Building codes and ability to learn all applicable NFPA codes and standards.

  • Sufficient computer skills necessary to learn to efficiently operate Tablets and the software for the service side of the business.

We are looking for a Colorado-licensed fire sprinkler fitter in Colorado. Job skills required include proficiency in commercial and residential fire sprinkler installation using black pipe, CPVC or copper. Other responsibilities include annual/semi-annual/quarterly Inspections of commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems including: wet systems, dry systems, fire pumps and backflow devices (backflow license would be required to inspect backflows).

Applicant should be skilled in, and able to Quote, T.I.'s, repair work and other service/inspection work.
